2. Required Documents

Complete and submit your application. Include the following items:

  • Evidence of giftedness, including IQ testing results. We accept IQ testing from our current school.
  • Academic records for the last two years, including report cards or transcripts and standardized test results.
  • Teacher recommendations for math and language arts.
  • An application fee of $100.00

Must be submitted before sit-in visit is scheduled.

3. Decisions

The Admission Office strives to make a good fit between the applicant and Rainard School for Gifted Students.  Decisions for admission to Rainard School for Gifted Students are based upon a child’s school visits, IQ evaluation, the teacher recommendation form(s) and the child’s transcripts, if applicable. Decisions regarding a student’s application to Rainard School for Gifted Students will be emailed within 24-48 hours of visit.

If accepted, provide the $1,000 non-refundable enrollment fee to secure a place for your child at Rainard. The enrollment fee is applied towards your tuition.

Requirements:
Please note: Early Childhood students must be toilet trained by the first day of school.

Teacher Recommendation Forms: Teacher Recommendations are required for Early Childhood. Simply download the form, give it to your child’s current teacher and ask that the teacher send it directly to Rainard School for Gifted Students by mail, fax, email or through the online application portal.

Submit completed form to admissions@rainard.org.

Teacher Recommendation forms are confidential and will not be shared with parents. Please call contact the Admission Office should you have questions regarding Teacher Recommendation forms.

Report Cards/Transcripts: Report cards are not required for Early Childhood application. Should your child’s preschool share written reports you are welcome to submit those through the application portal.

IQ Testing: There are no testing requirements for PK3 and PK4.

Required School Visit

Shadow Day: Student visits allow the student to experience Rainard and enable teachers to evaluate the student academically, socially, and emotionally. Student visits are from 8:15 am -3:30 pm. Rapid COVID-19 test is REQUIRED. AT HOME TESTING NOT ACCEPTED.

KINDERGARTEN - 8th Grade

IQ Testing: is required for kindergarten- 8th grade. Have your child’s IQ tested. Our admissions team accepts most of the tests of knowledge and cognitive skills typically used for IQ testing. A list of recommended IQ testing locations is found here: Learn More

Note: An IQ of 130 or above is generally accepted as the standard for giftedness. However, IQ test results are only one factor that our admissions team uses in evaluating a child for admission. We encourage you to discuss any IQ test results with our admissions team. If your child tested for another school and you would like to submit the results, you are welcome to do so. Evaluation must be within two years.
