The Admission Office strives to make a good fit between the applicant and Rainard. Decisions for admission to Rainard are based upon a child’s school visits, IQ evaluation, the teacher recommendation form(s) and the child’s transcripts, if applicable. Decisions regarding a student’s application to Rainard will be emailed within 24-48 hours of visit.
If accepted, provide the $2,000 non-refundable enrollment fee to secure a place for your child at Rainard.

Pre-K3 & Pre-K4
Requirements:
Please note: The student must be 3 by September 1st of the current school year. Pre-K students must be toilet trained by the first day of school.
Recommendation Forms: Teacher Recommendations are required for Pre-K. Simply download the form, give it to your child’s current school and ask that they send it directly to Rainard School for Gifted Students by mail, fax, or email. Submit the completed form to admissions@rainard.org.
Recommendation forms are confidential and will not be shared with parents. Please call contact the Admission Office should you have questions regarding recommendation forms.

Report Cards/Transcripts: Report cards are not required for Early Childhood application. Should your child’s preschool share written reports you are welcome to submit those through the application portal.
IQ Testing: There are no testing requirements for Pre-K3 and Pre-K4.

Shadow Day: Student visits allow the student to experience Rainard and enable teachers to evaluate the student academically, socially, and emotionally. Student visits are from 8:15 am -3:30 pm.

IQ Testing: is required for kindergarten- 8th grade. Our admissions team accepts most of the tests of knowledge and cognitive skills typically used for IQ testing. A list of recommended IQ testing locations is found here: Learn More
Note: An IQ of 130 or above is generally accepted as the standard for giftedness. However, IQ test results are only one factor that our admissions team uses in evaluating a child for admission. We encourage you to discuss any IQ test results with our admissions team. If your child tested for another school and you would like to submit the results, you are welcome to do so. Evaluation must be within two years.
