High School Admission
Eligibility
Candidates must be entering the 9th, 10th or 11th grade in the fall of 2009. Students must be identified as gifted, as measured by an intellectual ability test, such as the WISC-IV, or the Stanford-Binet, or based on a psychological assessment.
Informational Meeting
The parent or guardian, along with the student, will attend an informational meeting about the school's program. Because the program design is non-traditional, it is important to understand the philosophy and rationale. Expectations for students and families will be clarified and questions answered.
Application Package
Candidates must submit an application package, to include:
- Evidence of giftedness
- Report cards or progress reports from the last two years
- Most recent achievement test results
- Three recommendations from teachers or significant non-parenting adults
Application Fee
A fee of $75 is required with the application package.
Director Interview
After the application package is received and reviewed, the student will be interviewed by the Director to determine whether the school is a good fit.
Reservation Fee
In order to reserve a place at the school, we require a non-refundable reservation fee of $800.
Scholarships
The school provides a limited number of scholarships, awarded based on financial need and on exceptional suitability for our school. There is no guarantee of scholarship renewal in subsequent years, but given unchanged circumstances of financial need and suitability, renewal is likely.
