Parental VisitDSC_0021.JPG

Schedule an appointment to visit the school on a typical day. You will have the opportunity to look around and observe classes in order to see how unique Rainard School is. This will help you decide whether the school may be a good fit for your child.

Child Visit

We recommend that the child visit the school and spend a half day or a full day in the classroom. Involving the child in the decision about attending the school is highly recommended.

Screening

Arrange for a special screening with the school. Screenings are conducted on weekdays during school hours. Appointments for screenings must be scheduled in advance. The cost of the screening is $200, $100 of which will be credited to tuition if the student is accepted and enrolls. The screening takes 45-90 minutes, depending on the age of the child. After the screening, we can give you an initial assessment of the child's suitability for our school, but full results of the testing will not be available for 24 to 48 hours.

Rainard administers a battery of tests of knowledge and cognitive skills. These tests yield an analysis of the child's IQ, mental age, and equivalent grade level. We use these results strictly for screening and admissions purposes. Written results of the tests are not provided to the parent, and cannot be used for any other purpose.

To be admitted to the school, the child must have an IQ of 135 or above. We also make an evaluation of whether the child is likely to fit into the overall social and academic environment of the school.

To arrange a screening, phone the school for an appointment.
